District Associations

19th January 2009

The Hampshire ALC's seven District Associations, based around principal local authority boundaries, are independent informal forums of parish and town councils that act as strategic platforms for issues specific to their area.  Effective Associations have regular contact with their principal authority and act as critical friends on behalf of local councils.

They also act as the electoral college for electing councillors to the County Board of Directors. The ALC offers an annual grant of up to £400 p.a. to District Associations to support the running of their four quarterly meetings.  They are otherwise self-funding.

These pages contain the minutes of the last year's meetings and contact details, where supplied.  If the District Assocaition has its own website, then just a link to it is supplied.
