

East Dean is at the western edge of the Test Valley in Hampshire.It lies along the River Dun, astride the railway line from Salisbury to Southampton. There are some 82 dwellings and about 220 inhabitants. The tiny parish church of St. Winfrid's is by far the oldest building in the village. On its site there has been a place of worship for over 1000 years.
The Parish Council consists of five councillors and one clerk.. The council meets on a bi-monthly basis in the church of St. Winfrid's.
