Seasons Greetings!
The Chairman, County Board and staff of the Hampshire ALC wish all involved with our sector, and connected stakeholders, a peaceful and fun Christmas, with sincere hopes of a happy and healthy 2012 for all.  The office will be staffed until and including Thursday 22nd December.  It will then be closed until Tuesday 3rd January 2012.

Please nominate councillors for a Pride of Place award
Age UK’s Pride of Place campaign is calling on councillors to improve local neighbourhoods for people in later life. More than 170 councillors from across England have already shown their commitment by signing up as a Pride of Place advocate.

Now Age UK is sponsoring the Age UK Pride of Place award, as part of the 2012 Local Government Information Unit C’llr Achievement awards which are sponsored by CCLA, an investment support body for local authorities.

Localism Act Published!
Yesterday the Government’s plans to give local communities more say about planning and development passed into law as the Localism Act received Royal Assent.
The Localism Act represents the first stage of the Government’s reforms to the planning regime in England and Wales. However, in its progress through Parliament, the Act saw some prominent policies excluded.

Election Statements Published for East Hants Parish Rep SDNPA Election!
Nominations closed for the parish rep election in East Hampshire to the SDNPA at 5pm on 11th November.  A ballot will be held to determine which of the three candidates nominated will represent East Hampshire on the SDNPA.  Ballot papers are being sent to eligible parish councils.  Each council has one vote, as resolved.
